Coach Bowie

JASON BOWIE, Head Coach
Jason, Roosevelt High School Class of 1995, is in his sixth year as a coach at his alma mater, and third as Head Coach. Jason was a pitcher, catcher and outfielder for Roosevelt, twice winning first team All-Metro honors ('94, '95). Following high school, Jason played two years at Edmonds Community College (NWAACC champions '98), followed by two more seasons at Grand Canyon University in Arizona (CCAA champions '99). Jason has taught special education at Meany Middle School in Seattle and is excited to be on the teaching staff at Roosevelt High School in March of 2009. He has completed the special education endorsement program at Seattle University. Jason is dedicated to providing a quality baseball program at Roosevelt High School.

ADAM KRUSE, Varsity Assistant Coach
Adam is back coaching Roosevelt after a 2-year absence and we are excited to have him back. Adam had previously coached at Roosevelt for 3 seasons and two of those seasons were as the JV head coach. Adam has also coached football and basketball for several years at Curtis Junior High in Tacoma and Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines. Adam was a two-sport star earning three varsity letters in both football and baseball for the South Salem (OR) Saxons (Class of 1994). In Adam’s senior season he won first-team all league honors as a tailback and safety in football, and all league honorable mention as a left fielder on the baseball diamond. Following high school, Adam took his baseball background to Division III DePauw University in Indiana (BA in English 1998), where he earned a varsity letter with the Tigers. Following college Adam came to the Puget Sound area to work with Young Life. Adam served as the Young Life Area Director and other capacities from 1998 to 2007. Adam works as a New York Life Financial Services Professional since 2007.

AARON HYDE, Head JV Coach
Aaron is in his second year coaching baseball at Roosevelt having been assistant JV coach last year. Aaron attended Mariner High School where he played baseball. He currently works as an Operations Manager for a company called – 1-800-GOT-JUNK? He also volunteers at the Lynnwood Police Department.

MATT NELSON, Assistant JV Coach
Alumni of Roosevelt class of 1996, Matt was captain and first team all league pitcher as a senior. Matt continued playing baseball for Western Washington University for the next four years. He now teaches math at Roosevelt while coaching both baseball and football.

JASON KOENIG, Head JVC Coach
His baseball career was brought to an end with a shoulder and elbow injury his junior year of high school. Jason was a pitcher at North Mason High School, and played select baseball for IIS (Integrated Systems, Bellevue), Triple Play Baseball Club (Tacoma, WA) and West Sound Baseball Club. Jason has since coached for Triple Play Baseball Club, and North Mason Little league. Since his injury Jason has worked with Legislature, with the Wilkinson Baseball Academy, and with Triple Play baseball club to protect youth pitchers from overuse injuries. Jason is a professional photographer, and he and his wife Jenny own JKoe Photography. He currently volunteers for the Roosevelt photography program and is a volunteer Young Life leader.

JAKE EASTMAN, Assistant JVC Coach
Jake Eastman is a 2004 Roosevelt alumni. He was a 3-year varsity letterman and team captain during his junior and senior seasons. Jake was selected to the All-KingCo team his senior season before going to Linfield College. In addition to coaching, Jake works at the Bonneville Seattle radio stations, bartends, and does voice acting.
